As we reach mid 2025 I am very please to introduce a small collection of 7 flower essences from the Rocky Mountain bio region. This region has a wide openness to it with a view of mountains that call your eyes. There is something captivating about the clarity, nuances of light on the angles of rock and reflectivity of the snow covered peaks. The air seems to carry peace, vitality, creativity, and emergent potential.
Plants of the conifer family are dominant in this region, Ponderosa Pine, Douglas fir, Spruce and Lodgepole Pine. Ample communities of Aspen grow in abundance their smooth light colored bark and lime green leaves are a contrast to conifers. There are also thickets of Mountain Willow along the moist banks of rivers and streams. As the spring sun warms the earth multiple spring wildflowers make their appearance.
This new collection contains 7 individual essences and 1 blend. The blend is of the 7 essences plus a gem elixir of granite and quartzite. Of these essences I want to highlight Quacking Aspen a prominent species at the edge of the conifer forest.
When you see a grove of Quacking Aspen you are looking at a single living organism. Below the surface there is a large root system and from this individual trees emerge. But, they are essentially the same tree. Viewed it from this perspective the singular manifests as many ‘trees’ growing as one.
Quacking Aspen flower essence is for courage among other things and this tree’s growth signature is a healthy reminder we are not alone but connected to wide network of unseen support. This essence helps us lean into that support.
The steadfast energy of this tree is also signified by the fact that it is one of the first trees to flower in the spring. The flowers emerge as catkins from the tips of the branches dangling on bare limbs before the new tender leaves appear.
