Bigelow Monkeyflower is a spring wild flower which grows in the wide open deserts of Southern California. This essence was made from wild flowers growing near an oasis east of Joshua Tree National Park. During this essence making trip I also made the Ghost flower - flower essence. I also encountered one the largest rattlesnakes I've ever seen during this trip. It was about 10 feet long and warned me of it's presence from about 20 feet away.
I've been working with this flower essence for 15 years and each time I apply it I am delighted by the outcomes. In general essences from the "monkeyflower" family address aspects related to fear(s). This bold and beautiful flower helps us accept parts of ourselves that we reject. To say it another way it helps us bring courage to embracing all parts of ourselves more fully.
This is a wonderful essence to use for fears related to socializing. Those who clam up at the idea of socializing would find this essence useful. There is a way in which Bigelow Monkeyflower helps us feel more liberated in the relational field.
Bigelow Monkeyflower essence helps us overcome feelings of self consciousness and apprehension in social settings. This then allows us to feel more comfortable in our skin and show up in a balanced way. In this regard I like to use this flower essence for fear of rejection and fear of falling out of favor.
The Bigelow Monkeyflower essence is good when we fear or reject some aspects of our self. It provides a balanced and grounded energy supporting feelings of greater wholeness. When we lack self acceptance that gets projected out and we anticipate rejection. For some this is enough to just hide away and not seek contact. Adolescents, shy children, and adults wanting to make friends would enjoy this essence.
Bigelow Monkeyflower is a key essence in the Trauma Kit the cornerstone and foundation of the Essence Alchemy collections.
